Anti Sexual Harassment Cell

 

               As per the guidelines of UGC, NAAC and the Supreme Court an Anti Sexual Harassment Cell has been established by College to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the staff and students of the College. The cell was constituted to meet the four basic objectives:

For this purpose, sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexually determined behaviors such as:

  1. Verbal or Physical threats.
  2. Insulting, Abusive, Embarrassing or Patronizing behavior or Comments.
  3. Offensive gestures, Language, Rumors, Gossip or Jokes.
  4. Humiliating, Intimidating, Demeaning and/or Persistent criticism, Open hostility.
  5. Suggestive comments or Body language.
  6. Isolation or Exclusion from normal work or study place.
  7. Publishing, Circulating or Displaying pornographic, Racist, Sexually suggestive or Otherwise offensive pictures or Other materials.
  8. Unwanted physical contact, Ranging from an invasion of space to a serious assault (The above list is not intended to be exhaustive).
Followings are the objectives of Anti Sexual Harassment Cell:

  1. To develop the guidelines and norms for a policy against sexual harassment.
  2. To develop principles and procedures for combating sexual harassment.
  3. To work out details for the implementation of the policy.
  4. To prepare a detailed plan of action, both short and long term
  5. To organize gender sensitization awareness programme.
  6. To deal with cases of discrimination and sexual harassment in a time bound manner, aiming at ensuring support services to the victimized

  • Undertook UGC, New Delhi funded Minor Research Project titled, “Printing Press and Development of Punjabi Language, 1849-1919” for the amount of Rs. 1,10,000/ in April 2010.

  • Significant contribution in preparing Syllabus for the Under Graduate Course in History as member of Undergraduate Board of Studies in History of Panjab University, Chandigarh for the period 1.4.2009 to 31.3.2013.
