Khalsa College was established in July, 1966. Mathematics department has been serving this college since the inception of the college. Initially Mathematics was taught in Bachelor of Arts and Science but later on mathematics has also become an integral part of Bachelor of Computer science since 2009. The department follows the guidelines oh Panjab University and syllabus is also taught as described by Panjab University, Chandigarh. There are three faculty members at present working in the department out of which two are regular. All classes of Bachelors of Arts and Bachelors of Science are held in ‘Mahant Sewa Das Block’and the classes of Bachelors of Computer Application are held in ‘Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Block’. There are two smart classrooms are also available in College Campus: one in Physics Lab and another is in ‘Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Block’ which are used also used by Mathematics department. Mathematics department formed ‘RAMANUJAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY’ IN 2012.Department has its own book bank which has near about 1000 text books which are given to needy students for the whole session.
