Khalsa College, established in July 1966, has been home to the Mathematics department since its inception. Initially, Mathematics was offered within the Bachelor of Arts and Science programs. In 2009, it also became a core component of the Bachelor of Computer Science curriculum. The department adheres strictly to the guidelines set forth by Panjab University, and the syllabus is taught in alignment with Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Classes for the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs are conducted in the ‘Mahant Sewa Das Block,’ while the Bachelor of Computer Application classes take place in the ‘Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Block.’ The college is also equipped with two smart classrooms: one located in the Physics Lab and the other in the ‘Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Block,’ both of which are utilized by the Mathematics department.
The Mathematics department established the ‘RAMANUJAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY’ in 2012. Additionally, the department maintains a book bank with approximately 1,000 textbooks, which are loaned to needy students for an entire academic session.
